Guardians over the City
Five flags for Wellington Quay, Dublin.
A site-specific public artwork commissioned by Temple Bar Gallery + Studios and Dublin City Council for the annual Flags series.
Drawing on Indo-Persian miniature painting, the five flags bring gardens, water, latticework, language, stars and the number zero into the urban landscape. They act as portals for imagination and as temporary guardians: structures of hope, tranquillity and shared attention above the Liffey quays.
